Round 1

A Night of Karaoke

Last Friday Jessi and I joined a friend of mine from the Hopping Runner's club for a night of karaoke at a place called Round 1. AIU was sponsering a bus trip dirrectly to this place, so we were happy to join in.

Round 1 is a sort of Arcade/Sports Arena/Entertainment Super Center. It's a lot like the smaller amusement parks back home, like Bullwinkles or Palace Park. Different but similar. The base floor had karaoke, crane game machines (tons of them), darts, and gambling machines. A floor up had a restaurant and more arcade machines. A floor above that had a bowling alley. A floor above that had a multilevel kids ball pit and jungle gym, a manga reading room (stocked with manga), ping pong, and variety of other rooms, and a mechanical bull. Above that was sports areas, a soccer field, tennis courts, and I think some sort of track.

You need to buy tickets to even get on the fourth and sixth floors, so we didn't really see them, we only really saw the first three.

and what floors they were.

Also to get there you had to go up this escalator that went through a light tunnel. It was really cool.

After exploring we joined up with our group (15 kids!) for Karaoke. We split into two seperate rooms, and with 6 people we really sang our hearts out.

While we sang we could order food on a little remote. Overpriced and small portions, but hilarious and awesome. I got some ice cream because as the night wore on my throat needed it.

All in all an excellent night, and for the two of us, our combined bill wasn't more than $40 for three and a half hours of karaoke, two ice creams, cake, ramen, and a melon soda float.

It is a place we will certainly return to.
