Excellent job with the Masterpiece Theatre music. I'm sure you're finding the room (relatively) Spartan, but much better than the horrors(?) of a more typical dorm: you actually get a bed instead of tatami, you have air conditioning instead of an open window and your choice of bedsheets, and sometimes a whole dorm shares one large shower/bathroom - viva plumbing de modern.
Regarding the AC remote - red button = power, ↑↓arrows next to 度 or 温度 set temperature, and there are likely some settings that change fan strength labeled 弱 中 強 or 小 中 大 something to that effect which denote lo med and hi. Any other buttons on there probably deal with timers and rotation, so you're on your own there.
Regarding the fancy toilet: you might have noticed there are quite a few buttons on there. Suffice to say, most of them are pictographic in nature and usually self explanatory, so enjoy figuring that out. Perhaps the only real thing of note on there is the flush handle which might be bi-directional. You can choose to not follow the recommendation on the handle, but for the eco-conscious and water conservationist, 小 = #1 and 大 = #2.
Keep it up with the updates. If there's anything that you need help demystifying, I will try my best to confuse you even more.
